Iron Blooded Orphans is one of the best Gundam anime series.
And Barbatos is the leading mobile suit in the anime.
Through the years Barbatos gained a lot of upgrades, and Barbatos Lupus Rex is the latest on the anime. It's such a beast and will kill all the enemy in an instance.
When it comes to plastic models, this particular kit has a lot of ups and downs.
The joints are tight and it can hold most of the pose that it will do.
Except on the ball joints on its stomach which is the usual problem on most kits of the series. Before I forget, the shoulder armor can easily fall off too, but applying plastic cement will do the job and it will not sacrifice its articulation.
Surface details are somewhat good, you can apply panel lines for the most part.
Iron Blooded Orphans kits are well known for their color correcting stickers and the lupus rex has lots of it. The most noticeable is on its foot and tail. But if you're good at painting this problem is an easy fix for you.
As for the weapons, it still got its signature mace, only bigger this time. It has an additional tail like a weapon on the back which can contribute to a great dynamic pose. The arms gained a lot of makeovers, it's huge as well as the claws and it also has a sub-arms for holding extra weapons which you can buy as a separate option set parts.
All in all, it's still fun to build this particular kit, don't be disappointed with its flaws, they are all manageable and you can fix them in no time. It is still a great addition to your collection.
