This section applies to the Otaku ME mobile application for iOS and Android. It adds to the privacy policy above, which continues to apply to otakume.com. Where this section differs from the policy above, this section applies to the app.
Account information. When you sign in, we receive your name, email address and phone number from your Otaku ME customer account. Sign-in is handled by Shopify: we email you a one-time code. The app never asks for, sees or stores a password.
Orders and delivery. Your order history, shipping addresses and delivery status, so the app can show your orders and pre-fill checkout.
Wishlist and rewards. Items you save, and your loyalty points balance and tier.
Notification token. If you allow notifications, we store a token issued by Apple or Google that lets us send order updates and alerts to your device. You can revoke it at any time in your device settings.
App usage. Which screens of the app are opened, so we can understand how the app is used and improve it. This is collected with Google Analytics for Firebase and is not linked to your name, email or account.
Crash and performance data. If the app crashes or an error occurs, we receive a technical report (device model, operating system version, app version, the screen you were on and the error details). We also measure how quickly screens load. This is collected with Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry and is not linked to your name, email or account.
Support messages. Anything you send us through the app's help and contact options.
The app contains no advertising. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not collect any advertising identifier, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or camera.
If you turn on biometric unlock, your face or fingerprint data is processed entirely by your device's operating system. It is never sent to us and never stored on our servers.
Payments are processed inside Shopify's secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
Shopify, which hosts your account, orders and checkout. Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, solely to deliver notifications. Google (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) and Sentry, solely to measure app usage and fix crashes. Our delivery partners, to fulfil your order. We do not sell your personal information.
As with our website, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Turn notifications off at any time in your device settings or in the app's notification preferences. You can delete your account and its associated data from within the app, under Account. Deleting the app on its own does not delete your account.
You can delete your Otaku ME account in the app: open Account, then tap Delete account.
You can also ask us to delete it without the app. Email admin@otakume.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm by email when it is done.
Deleting your account permanently removes your account, wishlist, saved addresses and notification settings. Past orders are kept for as long as UAE law requires, then anonymised.
